About Mocean Subscription

Mocean Subscription is Hyundai's manufacturer-run car subscription service in the UK, launched in 2021. The current line-up is limited to Hyundai models, including the Inster, i20, Kona Hybrid, Tucson hybrids and plug-in hybrids, and the electric IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9, with advertised starting prices from just under £500 a month at the time of checking.

The monthly fee bundles comprehensive insurance, road tax, servicing, tyres and breakdown cover, with no deposit, so fuel or charging is the main extra cost. Plans are offered as a one-month rolling agreement or fixed terms of 6, 12 or 24 months, and 24 months is the maximum. Each plan includes 1,000 miles a month as standard, with unused miles carried forward and paid add-ons up to 3,000 miles a month. Optional protection products reduce the damage liability on return.

The service suits drivers who want a new Hyundai, especially an EV or hybrid, without buying or committing to a long lease. Eligibility is fairly strict: drivers must be aged 25 to 70, hold a full UK photocard licence for at least 12 months and pass affordability and credit checks. Ending a fixed term early carries a fee calculated as a percentage of the remaining payments. Delivery within 30 miles is free, with banded charges beyond that.

What subscription lengths does Mocean offer?

Mocean's terms list a one-month rolling plan plus fixed plans of 6, 12 and 24 months. Agreements end automatically after 24 months and cannot be extended beyond that.

How many miles are included?

The standard allowance is 1,000 miles per subscription month, and unused miles carry forward. You can pay for higher allowances of 1,500 to 3,000 miles a month, and excess miles are charged per mile at a rate that varies by model.

Who is eligible for a Mocean subscription?

Drivers must be aged 25 to 70, have held a full UK photocard licence for at least 12 months and have lived in the UK for at least a year. No more than 7 penalty points in five years are allowed, and affordability and credit checks apply.

Can I cancel early?

There is a 14-day withdrawal right. After that, ending a fixed plan early incurs a fee calculated as a share of the remaining monthly payments, ranging from 50% on 12- and 24-month plans to 100% on the rolling plan, so check the terms before signing.

Is delivery included?

Delivery within 30 miles of the supplying retailer is free. Longer distances are charged in bands, and journeys over 300 miles are quoted individually.
