About Vauxhall
Vauxhall's roots go back to 1857, when Alexander Wilson founded an engineering company in the Vauxhall area of south London, initially making pumps and marine engines. Its first car appeared in 1903, and in 1905 the company moved to Luton, which remains its home today. Its griffin badge comes from the coat of arms of Falkes de Breauté, a medieval knight who owned land in the area.
Vauxhall was bought by General Motors in 1925 and for decades shared models with GM's German brand Opel. Cars such as the Cavalier, Astra and Corsa became familiar sights on British roads. In 2017 Vauxhall and Opel were sold to PSA, which became part of Stellantis in 2021. The current range includes the Corsa, Astra, Mokka, Frontera and Grandland, and each is available as a fully electric model. Vauxhall also builds vans at Ellesmere Port, which has been converted to produce electric vans.
Vauxhall on a car subscription
Vauxhall is a familiar, affordable choice for subscribers who want a mainstream hatchback or SUV on a short contract. Because every model has an electric version, a subscription is an easy way to try an EV such as the Corsa Electric or Frontera Electric, with low Benefit-in-Kind tax for company car users. Check the real-world range, charging access, the mileage allowance and whether servicing and breakdown cover are included in the monthly cost.
